Many software developers feel antipathy towards project tracking tools like Jira because they feel it adds unnecessary overhead and distracts them from their "real jobs".

It doesn't have to be this way! Embracing the right level of process, workflow and classification can turn Jira into a force for good for an entire org, from the execs to ICs.

* Indulge in some good old-fashioned Jira bashing (discuss anti-patterns)
* Envision "the perfect bug report"
* Talk about how to strike a balance between enough structure to produce good reporting, but not so much as to slow down teams
* Identify ways to afford individuals and teams flexibility in how they work with Jira (or don't)
* Describe the characteristics of an ideal task/workflow system setup
* Consider the benefits to engineering ICs who adopt a Jira-tolerant engineering process
