Shift Left aims to deploy different processes as early and directly as possible in the software development process. While this paradigm originally comes from the testing culture, it has major implications for all fields in product development. Product owners / managers and companies are not prepared for this mindset change.

Old processes, Big Design upfront, legacy hell, lack of knowledge in product development: with the holistic Shift Left mindset, the turnaround to highly valuable products with appropriate balance is successful.

This presentation introduces Shift Left and clarifies how to act differently in holistic product development.

Product Manager, Product Owners, Software Architects and managers in organizations will learn which upskill they need and how the framework conditions have to be changed so that the benefits of this way of thinking can be leveraged.

While Shift Left approaches have arrived in individual disciplines (keyword DevSecOps), two points are missing in my view: First, the upskilling of product owners and management in this regard to be able to steer the fortunes of product development much better and with more value. And secondly, that Product Owners as primus inter pares can influence all relevant parts of the organization in such a way that "Shift Left" takes place on all levels.
